Message from the Board Chairman

As the Chairman of the Kutztown University Foundation Board, I spend a good deal of time visiting KU’s beautiful campus, speaking with administrators, faculty, and students, and learning about the current state of the university.

Many members of the KU community volunteer their time and talents for the benefit of the university, by helping with university events, new programs, or by lending their expertise to administrative and academic projects; in addition, numerous KU alumni, parents, and friends are involved with charities across the region and the nation. It’s not just the alumni, parents, and friends of KU who are working to help the community—it’s the students as well. Over 3,400 Kutztown students completed 47,544 hours of community service during the 2010-2011 school year, a statistic that demonstrates the students are deeply committed to volunteering and to service.

The impact of philanthropy is substantial and extensive, on the campus, in the town, and in the region, thanks to the efforts of the entire KU community. I invite you to learn more about the impact philanthropy is having on the lives of our students and I encourage you to become involved. Kutztown University is a special place because of its people.
