Awards

Each year the Awards Committee solicits nominations for outstanding alumni in several categories. The committee meets each spring to determine the award winners, and those individuals are honored at an Awards Luncheon on Alumni Weekend.

2011 Alumni Award Winners

The Early Career Excellence Alumni Award

This award recognizes alumni who have graduated within the past 15 years and who are attaining notable success in their chosen profession.  

The Rothermel Alumni Award

This award recognizes the notable and distinguished professional achievements of alumni who graduated from KU 16 or more years ago. 

The Alumni Citation Award for Service and Distinguished Professional Achievement

Nominations for the Citation Award for Service and Professional Achievement, the university's highest honors, are derived from nominations for the Rothermel Awards. The Alumni Awards Committee will review all submissions received and determine recipients for the Citation Award(s).

Past Recipients

The Arthur and Isabel Wiesenberger Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching

This award is presented annually to one faculty member who has served Kutztown University in a manner which sets him or her apart from faculty colleagues. Any current full-time faculty member at Kutztown University is eligible for nomination. Nominations may be submitted by anyone associated with Kutztown University: faculty members, administrators, staff, students and alumni. The award is presented during the opening Convocation of the fall semester. Nominations should be forwarded to Wiesenberger Faculty Award Committee, Kutztown University, Wiesenberger Alumni Center, PO Box 151, Kutztown, PA 19530.

Senior Undergraduate Service and Leadership Awards

The Kutztown University Alumni Association seeks to recognize the service and leadership of outstanding senior students. Your organization is invited to nominate a senior for the Undergraduate Service and Leadership Awards, which will be presented at Spring commencement rehearsal. From the pool of candidates, the awards committee will additionally choose one outstanding student to receive the highest honor for Leadership.
